Get back into shape and lower my running times (5K and 10K in particular).

Run a half marathon and possibly a marathon.

Still be running 20+ years from now.

Personal:

I ran cross country and track in high school in good old Indiana and at Valparaiso University in college. I've been married for 14 years now to my beautiful wife Kathleen. We have 3 wonderful kids, and I teach physics, astronomy, and earth science at Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL.

Elementary school loop. Legs were still tight and sore. It was significantly colder today with temps in the lower 30s. It was refreshing, and I felt good.

I'm not normally a morning runner, but I got up and ran this morning. Did my usual school loop. The legs felt fine. My knees were still hurting some, but felt better than Tuesday. It felt good to get out in the morning.

Odd Fellows-Walgreens Loop. The legs felt okay. It was a beautiful sunny day and almost 60 degrees outside. Perfect day for a run!

Another cold, windy run on my usual school loop. Legs felt fine and surprisingly fresh despite not getting much sleep last night. I was up late grading so I could finish final semester grades today.

It was much warmer today after being below freezing for a couple days with wind chills in the single digits. I did my usual school loop plus a little more in a housing addition along the route. I felt good.

I ran my Walgreens loop with a little extra. It was fairly cold today (29 degrees F) with a cold headwind almost the entire way out and then a tailwind most of the way back. I did 4 strides on the way back to stretch the legs a bit. Ran around the block with my youngest. Legs felt good, but my back has been tight.
