I almost forgot to blog! Did 2 miles on the treadmill (at 9am) cause I had to teach choir at the school at 7am. Took 20 minutes I think.

Power Yoga while baby napped later. 52 minutes.

I plan on taking a nap tomorrow. Look forward to resting.

+1 for naps! we all complain about tapering, but i guess it's not that bad. extra naps and extra food. perfect.

I wish I could be there to see you win the race! I told my family to watch for you. Thanks for your supportive and encouraging comments. Thanks for making me laugh (tiger suit) and good luck to you!

Allie, I have a question and I feel so stupid asking it at this point. Am I an idiot for running my first marathon in shoes with such high mileage? They actually have 80 miles more than they say cause I ran in them before joining this blog. I was just reading about shoes and marathon's on some Salt lake running company page and they said to run with shoes in their prime which is 50-150 miles and I did not know this. They also said it's better to have blisters from new shoes than serious injuries for wearing old shoes. Just wanted your thoughts. I paid a lot of money for these shoes (in May) and figured they'd last me through the marathon. I'm embarrassed and know I sound like such a beginner runner.

i honestly think you will be fine. if you have been training in them comfortably without any random aches or pains, i would say that is a much safer option to go with than new shoes. it looks like you have 530+ miles on your shoes, which might be a bit high, but certainly not unreasonable. especially if you bought good quality, durable shoes. there are a bunch of people on this blog who wear shoes 700-800 miles, and some even more than that. i really think you will have a lot better experience running in the shoe you are comfortable running in, rather than a new shoe that may have an unfamiliar feel or cause blisters. remember that running shoe companies suggest new shoes for a reason -- they want you to buy more shoes! i really think you will be fine. those shoes have taken you through many miles of training and i doubt they will fail you by going 26.2 more. it's normal to have these last-minute doubts about everything. i am doing the same thing! the race will be here soon enough and then we can just relax and have fun. you are ready! the weather forecast is totally perfect and everything is going to be great!

THANK YOU! You are an angel sent from above to help me survive this marathon experience. Thanks for your quick and comforting response. I love my shoes and they've been good to me. No more worries. I'm gonna go take a nap:)
