I was nervous to pace a 9 minute mile for this race. I was pacing with Rachel, so I knew she would understand my running weaknesses if there were to be any. Race started at 6:30 and it was really warm. This is my favorite half marathon and my second time pacing the event. It seemed that the race still hadn't frown since 2013. Best kept secret. We paced a little ahead the first half because I was nervous we were going to need a cushion the last 5 miles or so. Rachel Kept rearing me in because we were going a little too fast at times. The first half was def hot until we hit the shady part of the canyon. Coming back around mile 9, I rwally started having contractions. I cruised to the next aid station and made myself drink two glasses of water. I started feeling better and wanted the run to be done. There seemed to be a lot of women along the way that we were able to encourage and they had positive attitudes in beating us. I love the women that this race attracts, they seem to be low key and bad A. Most of the women from this race are from out of state. I love this race and the fact that I got to pace with rachel. I also love the refreshments at the end. It was an awesome feeling having done a good job on this @ 22 weeks pregnant. |
