Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

My quads were a little sore this morning from running 13 miles on concrete and asphalt on Saturday.  But other than that, I feel back to normal after a mediocre week last week.  The weather was almost pleasant this morning!

I ran 7 miles in 1:08:17, a 9:45 average.  Actually, I ran most of the run slower, and ran the last two miles a little faster.  It was a good run.

I forgot to weigh myself this morning.

Nice job today! Sounds like you are back on track. Do you have any races coming up?

From Shauna on Tue, Jul 29, 2008 at 00:25:24

Hey Jody,

No races anytime soon. They are almost nonexistent down here in our neck of the woods this time of year. I am tentatively planning on a half marathon in early September to gauge my fitness for St. George. I'm getting excited! What is your goal for SG??

From Jody on Tue, Jul 29, 2008 at 00:30:55

I didn't get into St. George. I am still keeping my fingers crossed that something might open up, but in the meantime I am thinking about running Top of Utah. It is not as fast but still a good course. It is 3 wks before SGM. I am however planning on coming down to SG that weekend to cheer everyone on.
