Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

Well, I finally went for a run.  I ran 3 miles at a 9:55 average.  It took almost 10 minutes to get my heart rate back down to 120 though!  It will be interesting to see how much fitness I have retained after a month of sitting on my couch.  I have not gained back any weight, so that is good.

I am having a problem with work/life balance.  Work has been extremely busy lately, and I just have not had energy, or the desire, to keep training for the marathon.  I can't do anything in moderation, though.  Basically, it's either train for a marathon and run 6-8 miles a day, or nothing.  That is a bad way to approach work/life/everything.

My husband has a stress fracture.  he was just diagnosed last week, so he is out for 6 weeks.  Unless I make some miraculous strides in the next few days, St. George is not going to happen for me.  Frankly, I'm more disappointed about not meeting all you bloggers!  However, I should have a good head start for PF Chang's.  Hopefully my husband will be able to do the half then, and he and I can do a marathon together after that.  Time will tell...
