Personal:

I've been running since high school (mid-1990s) and do pretty well when I'm focused on a goal. My main problem  is running consistently when I'm NOT training for something specific. I'm an attorney, and I've been married to my husband, also a runner, for 5 1/2 years. We live in Phoenix, Arizona.  We had a beautiful baby girl, Caroline, in August 2009.

Well, I finally ventured out.  It is so nice in Phoenix this time of year.  The big celebration today was not my running, but my husband's!  He has recovered from his stress fracture and ran a mile today with no pain.  I ran with him for a while, and then we walked home once we got back to the asphalt (I only wanted him to run on the dirt path).  I feel good.  I know I won't be setting any mileage records, but it felt good to get out there.

It was a beautiful evening for a run.  I heard owls hooting.  It's nice to know my urban neighborhood is biologically diverse.

Everything feels good, except I am wheezing a bit.  I get a little bit of exercise-induced asthma when the weather gets cooler.  And by cooler, I mean the high 60s!

I feel very green, because I ran to Blockbuster to return a movie, instead of driving.  The run felt good, and the weather was beautiful.  I felt a strong pain in my left upper thigh/groin area when I stretched afterwards.

I have gained a little weight.  I haven't stepped on the scale, but the clothes feel a little tighter.  Time to step it up.

Average pace: 10:25.  Yikes!

Another beautiful evening.  I have gained 8 pounds, so I am sufficiently motivated now.  Happy Halloween Eve!
