| | After not getting out yesterday due to a busy work day I tried to make up for it this morning. Started at the top of Snow Canyon Park and ran down the course down Diagonal, then weaved through town above Dixie State, mad e loop back to the Stadium. Did one lap on the track and then to home. Tried to keep a marathon pace for this run. I didn't push hard, I just tried to keep consistent and not get too excited on the downhills. 8:11 average pace for the run. Bill ran up an greeted me at about mile 16 1/2- I was pretty tired at that point but was able to maintain the pace on home-

5 1/4 consistent miles without making a stop along the way- This week I am going to work on making my runs longer without walk breaks- 8:51 pace
It was very difficult to talk myself into running this morning- Once I got back I realized why. I had .12 miles to go to hit 5,000 miles and didn't know it. Once I got the .12 it was easy to stay out. Now on to the 1,000 miles
9:49/ 9:02/ 8:45/ 8:30/ 8:09/ 6:33 Progressed slightly faster each mile, never did look at the Garmin during the run, just went with the feel

The last 3 miles were the fastest of the run. This run has a lot of climbing, up the trail over through Bloomington Hills up river road to deseret hills high and then home- |

Dogtown Half Marathon (13.25 Miles) 01:43:33, Place in age division: 1 | | Overall a good race. My focus was on staying steady, consistent throughout the race. The head winds and the hills made that hard but overall I am very pleased with the time. The course was long and very honest. Temps were good and the rain held off and made it very pleasant. I won the old men/ 50-59 age group. Have no idea the times of everyone yet. |

5.15 miles late morning- Feeling a bit sore but not bad, actually more tight than sore in the hams. Loop around Bloomington 7:52 average pace 8:32/ 7:59/ 7:42/ 7:32/ 7:39 Went out wanting to hold a solid but not fast pace, continued consistent running. I did feel it easier to run when I got warmed up a bit so I did drop the pace a bit and tried holding it. One of the better runs in the last few months! 4-5 more hard training weeks to Boston and then I can start to mellow out a bit. PM- 6 miles from Dixie College to home in the dark: Feet a bit tired but overall a pretty good run- slow but it was dark out. 8:37 pace
