So today was the meet at highland. Did about a mile and a half of warmup, then drills and strides and handoff stuff with relay teammates I am counting as a half mile because we did a lot :)

So then we did the 800. Because Natalie was running, no chance of me winning (ha) so I just tried to focus on staying close to her. I did alright the first lap. 75. Then came the 2nd lap, where I slipped. I fell back from Nat and I'm just glad I had enough of a lead on the next girl that I didn't lose my place. I luckily got 2nd. I am a little upset because if I would've stayed with her for a little longer, then I would've PR'd. But oh well, maybe another time.

Did a little bit of cool down, and more drills and strides and handoffs.

Then I was placed in the 4x400m relay. Let me tell you, 400 is NOT my race. I'm a distance runner, not a sprinter. Anyway, I'm way disappointed with this race as well. We were in first, and then I got the baton, and was the last person (I don't like being last too much) and I remembered a couple of the last races where I went out way too fast and died at the end, didn't want to do that, so I went a little slower at the beginning. Then all of a sudden some highland girl passes me and obviously she's sprinting. I tried to keep up with her, but I'm not a sprinter, so it was hard. I fell off of her with like 150 meters to go, and now I feel really horrible about that. I hate losing the lead. I've done it too much now.

Cooled down to get to 5.5 miles for the day when I got home.
