Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

Okay it didnt rain, and hardly a breeze so all good, crispy cool and the sun was out.

2.8 miles warm up off road, trails with sand and lots of mud yay

short rest stretching approx 3mins  I was rareing to go, but still remembering that the last 2 days were not easy runs, although not session but still my legs will be heavy :-(

  • mile 1 5.51 mins
  • mile 2 5.53
  • mile 3 5.55
  •  Okay I had 3 mins recovery either jogging or jogging and stretching my legs felt tight, my calves were ok at the time but now they're really sore. Hammy tight and sore.

It has been a long time since I have done mile reps, so I am made up with my virgin mile reps run..... I wont lie I found it incredibly hard like Chris M says

    BLOODY mile reps :-O

They are hard really hard, gut wrenching but I didnt feel like vomiting I felt tired but it was deffo the legs holding me back, so a race and no easy runs isnt great to do 1st mile reps after along lay off since my Injury in training for Berlin Marathon which was in August which is nearly 5 months ago !

I took it easy on the way back but hit the sand dunes to try gain strength from them

4.4 miles back

1st mile   10.29mins sand dunes really big ones

2nd mile   9.41mins more big sand dunes

3rd mile   7.48mins hitting the muddy trails picking the pace up

4th mile  7.34mins again picked the pace up allot on muddy trails and sandy trails

0.4           2.43mins  thats 7.27 pace on the road easing off.

Good session all in all, and got decent miles in.

No bunnies, no seagulls, and thankfully no lamp posts.......but I saw some high school kids along the muddy trails on the way back, some of them started to walk, I nearly shouted at them to get their butts going but thought best keep my mouth shut LOL.....

oh and no I did miss out on my car space some one else visiting the gym stole it naught people naughty naughty ;-)

pretty good workout! Keep up the good work. That temperature is gruesome. I can't even imagine what that feels like.

Howard: We hardly have any cold weather down here in Laredo, Texas. I have to enjoy it, but 0 degrees!!! I wouldn't enjoy that. lol

Laredo, TX climate is hot during summer when temperatures tend to be in the 80's and cool during winter when temperatures tend to be in the 50's.

The warmest month of the year is July with an average maximum temperature of 99.99 degrees Fahrenheit, while the coldest month of the year is January with an average minimum temperature of 43.70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Every year there is an avg of 75 + days over 100 degrees in the summer. Reading about your runs in 0 degrees to 10 degrees temperature makes me cringe. Anyways keep on trucking! :)
