Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

Depending on the alcohol source you should be fully carb loaded anyway :)... Nice to kick back and have some fun every now and again. I hope the bbq went well.

Oh wine I only drink wine, and if too drunk end up on shots, but that never happens anymore, so it was just wine.

It was nice to go out and had a real good laugh as I met lots of people I know, which is nice...

I miss my wine. Part focusing on family part moving to UT it has taken a back seat. My first boss used to host wine tastings and they were so much fun. We would usually have 4-5 bottles and we would bag them. Then test them alone or with different fruits, meats, cheeses, etc. Vote on the best and then "unmask" the bottles to see which couple brought the best. Surprisingly it was almost never the most expensive bottle and often usually the one that was in the $9-12 range.

Adam, I like my wine, Rose usually but not the cheap stuff gives me a headache! LOL.

I also like a really good red wine, and will drink that slowly and enjoy..... My parents go over to different parts of france, wine tasting and always bring me back a lovley bottle :-)

We are wine drinkers as well. As a matter of fact we collect (we generally have "everyday" wine and then we have some bottles we have cellared for years now).

I have found a run helps me if I over-indulge ... we went to running camp in Boulder a few years ago and Dean (not me) stayed out with Todd Williams until way way early in the morning. The group got up to do a long run at 6 or 7AM and we went up to Magnolia road (I think it starts at 7000-8000ft) - Dean got out of the bus after the twisty-turvy climb up to the start of the run, went over to the bushes and threw up. He then went and ran an awesome long run ... "you play as you practice" ;-).

Hope your run went well today Sam!

Bonnie, thats a funny story, Oh dear it reminds me of when I didnt take my running too serious, about 2 yrs ago, I went out knowing I had a 10k race the next day, any way I made it to the start line after quite allot of wine the night before, I threw up enroute, and allot of people beat me that never beat me before, but our ladies team won, and we got a bottle of wine, they all said I deserved it, it was the last thing I wanted to see.

Afraid I cant run the day after, unless I only have 1 glass, LOL.

yes my run went well today, although I did not drink alcohol last night. :-)

Sam, I'm partial to reds. I think it is just easier to find a good red. I really liked Merlots for awhile but if I find a good Chilean Cab I think that is the best. Twice I've had a good Chard but those you usually have to shell out the big bucks for.

Bonnie, I've been there done that. My first year in college I visited U of I for a weekend to meet up with some old high school friends. They were already in a frat and at about 2am I was "out" then at 6am I got up to run a local 5K the high school in Urbana was hosting. I ended up winning the race in my 4th fastest time at the time. I guess you never know.
