Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

\Slept like a log again, but I do need more hours, 6.5 just aint enough but cant complain as its better than 2-3 hours.

couldnt get outta bed so didnt do vibrogym, Bumma eh!

15 mins xtrainer level 6.

calf raises

11.73 miles, average 7.30 pace, not an even run, as the terrain is very varied, longest I have run so far since my time out, weather atrocious heavy lake district style rain, fine but heavy.   Its pretty warm too so humid, I wore my sons football jacket as its light weight etc, but half way through the run the rain stopped and it went really warm, so I got hot then.  Never mind felt pretty good, last few miles were  a bit hard.

Had to go straight to school, as I help run a kids run club, so did

2   miles with the kids running around a field and playing games.

Then had to take my son to his football training over in tranmere, Not running but did a good 2 mile walk, not sure if thats counted as mileage so didnt count it.

Real tired tonight, so hoping to sleep like a log again fingers crossed.

I like the new pic. You look like you're daring someone to give you an excuse. LOL. Oh, last night was the worst night of sleep ever for me, for obvious reasons.

Cool new pic :)

It's a pain when you wear too many clothes, all year round I wear a long sleeve top and jacket on the long runs, during the summer it's the nearest I get to warm weather training...

Despite trying to get extra sleep I seemed to wake up naturally at 0430 rather than 0530 this morning, oh dear!

hahaha Burt you like that piccy, I put it on for a laugh Idont like it, mind you I dont like piccys of meself anyways, hence the motorbike one you couldnt really make my face out or anything LOL. I am sure your tired, a run might lift your spirits, take care..

Chris, thanks well c above for piccy.:)

Sleep wise that would happen to me, I was awake at 4am this morning, Why I Dont have the foggiest and wish to stay asleep....

So you suffer from the cold, I am cold all the time except when I am running, then I seem to be too hot, so Im useless at controlling my body temp!

Good run! Sounds like you are on your way back.

Cool about the kids running club...I am looking at starting one up this fall at my kids school. The principal is for it and I am working out a proposal and concept to finalize with them. Let me know if you have any suggestions to keep it fun, educational and motivational for the kids!

Jt - Yeah few cool games you can play,

favourite with the kids is shark and fishes, you cone out a decent sized square dependent on the amount of kids too! choose 4 sharks, and the rest are fishes, they have to run from one side to the other, if they get tagged theyre a sea enemy, have to stand still but put their arms out and they can tag fishes as running past, kids love it.

dependent on their age you can do Paarlauf training, I find the older kids can do this, basically you have two kids, one runs around half a field, and tags the other one, as their running round they jog across to the other half way to tag and then the other kid jogs across the field...

circle relays, make a circle large enough to run around, five teams of 5/6 kids they all start off different poinst around the circle, as their team is in a line in the circle, relay! can start off with them doing different things like lieing on their front etc.

cones, they sprint for 5 secs were they finnish on 5 secs they put the cone down, next time they have to try beat it over the 5 secs, kids love this one, and they do it in pairs taking turns running and counting.

got loads more! thats off the top of my head. We always do running the field to start the session, drills and running around the field quite a few times and then stretches. Always drills to start and stretches at the end. Happy Days :)
