Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Early morning Treamill tempo.  Copied Jake K and transitioned between AT and LT half mile continuous reps.  2 mile warmup and then 8 miles with half mile at AT (marathon pace) 6:45 average, and then a half mile at LT (10k/HMP) 6:10 average.  Last mile of the workout at LT 6:07 and then a half mile cooldown.  10.5/72 minutes.  What a workout!

Transitioning from fast to fast(er) without any real breaks was a lot tougher than I thought it would be.  I liked it!

Wow you went straight to half-mile alternations. I figure it's going to take me ~6 weeks to get to that point. Nice job.

FYI you have the typical terminology for AT and LT reversed. LT = Lactate Threshold = 15K/HM pace, AT = ~MP.

haha too funny Jake....thanks for pointing that out! Honestly I am pretty naive and thought that it would be relatively easy and make the TM time go by fast. I kept looking forward to that "break"....that never really came! But I can definitely see the benefits of this type of training.

Nice workout Girl,,, that sounds like a good one, I'd like to try it. I can see how you'd almost feel like you were getting a break with the change of speed, but in fact you are working hard the whole time! you're one tough cookie

That just sounds brutal! I can't wait to try it!

I read about this workout one time.. Crazy! Seems like it would be a tough one. Awesome workout Rachelle!

Very nice workout. 8 miles of that is substantial. Just 8 miles of non stop AT is pretty good, but doing half at LT too really makes this a brutal workout. Nicely done. You'll reap some great benefits out of this.

Yeah you were roasting the belt on the tready. It was fun to see you today for a minute! I have missed you. I can't even remember the last time we talked. Not cool but it's like I guess.
