Got up around 5:30 and ran easy easy easy slow 1.55 miles around BH to loosen up. (Alchemy 174.5)

Warming up and such was kind of weird, it took forever to round up all the ladies and get going, so the first 5 minutes of my warmup was just jogging in place waiting for them. Finally, we ran around 3/4 mile or so, stretched, prayed and got to the start. I really feel like I ran a pretty good race today, instead of going out and settling into a pace like normal, I just went out and pushed hard hard and kept pushing the pace the whole first two miles. I almost died the last half mile, but I made it to the finish, ran a good time and legs were satisfactorily dead afterwards. (Though that Spanish Fork girl passed me up, dern.) (DD spike 22)

Cooled down a mile and a quarter or so - first bit w/Annie. I'm pretty happy with today's race, not just how I did, but how the rest of the team did! Almost our whole team PR-ed by a lot, it was really great to see those ladies improving now as it's all coming together as the season's coming to a close. Sweet! And lighting the PV w/ the whole XC team at half time of the Homecoming football game was most excellent, especially the pyrotechnics! (DST 218.1)

good job on the race in cedar.you are doing great considering the injury. I grew up in bloomington hills, graduated from PV in 91'. i,m pretty sure that i saw your parents at the meet today. but didn't realize it til later. i thought they looked familiar but couldn't figure it out til later. good luck finish the season strong.

Sweet race! At least you beat your time goal by 11 seconds, and 2nd place at an invite is great!

Ryan - did you know my oldest brother, Gene Hilton? He was a bit younger than you (class of '94-I think). How do you know my parents - yes, they were there today - were you at the meet for any particular reason?

yes i know your brother Gene. we grew up in the same neighborhood of b. hills. i remember talking to him at dixie college after my mission and before his. i have a lot of respect for him and your family. He was a great mt biker(#1 in nation) if i remember and basically gave it up to serve a mission. is he a doctor or dentist now?

i know your parents from living in b. hills. I was at the cc meet because i live in cedar city right across from the highschool. I like to run and watch others run. the cedar boys coach lives in my ward and i am building an addition on his house.

you might know my youngest brother Nick Neumann i think he graduated in 2005 from PV.

Gene's a dentist and lives with his wife and 4 boys in Farmington, NM. I kind of know your brother, Nick, but my brother, Tim, knows him more... what connections! - have fun with your running and such!
