3:24:39.  I went to check my splits for posting but my Garmin's battery is dead.  I will have to post splits another time.

Looking back, I am a bit disappointed in my mental discipline (nothing new here).  It was tough to really push through the end when I lacked any real goal.  Realistically I should have probably toughed it out to come in sub 3:20, but essentially I quit.  However, on the positive side, I did not taper and have been logging more miles that ever before, so I am pleased with the progress.

 It was good to meet Cal and talk with Andy.

Very nice job on the race, especially with no taper and with your recent mileage increases. Looks like you and Cal came in about the same time.

Tom, I didn't realize until after the race that it was Cal who kept passing me every time I stopped to be a big pansy. We both sort of laughed at the finish. I was looking for a guy with a goatee and he was looking for me in the red running shirt. Cal was strong and steady.

That was a big improvement over last year. You ran very well considering the amount of miles that you are running right now. I have the sames mental issues that you do. After races, I am always disappointed and feel that I quit and didn't have the mental edge to push through the pain. I have decided that we really are at our physical limits and probably couldn't give a whole lot more. I'm glad you introduced yourself. I don't think that I would have recognized you.

Andy, thanks for the encouragement. I think part of my problem comes from heart rate monitoring. I probably shouldn't wear a heart rate monitor in races any more as I read too much into it. I don't really know why I do, since most of the time I'm not wearing one in training. I suppose I need to do some fast finish longer runs as well.

Fast finish long runs is the one thing that I regret not doing this year. All of my long runs have been at a steady, comfortable pace.
