Recovery week #2

I didn’t do my speed work last week because I was skiing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, so I started this week off with a short version of speed work even though this is  my recovery week.

2 mile mile warm up

3 x 1 mile at 5:56 pace with 1/2 mile recovery

Total 7 miles

This seemed more difficult than it should have but I guess that is what happens when you ski hard, eat horribly and sleep poorly for a few days. Now I can spend the rest of the week really recovering and getting my body and mind ready for my final 3 week training block before taper begins.

Rhett - When do you think you'll be returning to Boston?

From I Just Run on Wed, Mar 20, 2019 at 07:14:48 from 199.38.187.9

I'm still in that recovery mode too but finally kicked myself out the door yesterday for a short run.

Slick, while I like to BQ annually just so I can say I could go to Boston, I don't see myself returning to Boston in the near future. There are so many races I have not done and I feel like I have done everything there is to do in Boston. I just want to see and do different things.

IJR, you had a great race so the downtime is well deserved. I'm just on a built in recovery week for my upcoming marathon. Fortunately it came after my ski trip because my legs are still shot from that.
