I decided my calf was finally fully healed after some solid cross training this week. I headed out for a 10 miler this morning. The first 4 where nice and easy with a steady climb. Then for the next 6 I tried to keep it around marathon pace (7:25) . It was a gradual mostly downhill 6 miles. I had to keep close tabs on my garmin cause I kept wanting to go too fast. I was mostly able to reign it in with all 6 miles coming in between 7:20 and 7:24. Finished with a 0.4 mile cool down for a total of 10.4 miles. The best news is my calf didn't bother me at all. Second best is the pace felt very easy. Unfortunately I have not done more than a 16 mile run since a few weeks before Boston. I have no clue what my body is going to do when I hit the 20 mile mark next week. All I can do is go for it, make sure I keep my pace no faster than 7:20 (hopefully closer to 7:25), and see what happens.
