Still feeling a slight twinge in the left calf walking this morning, so I avoided all calf work today.
Lower body weights, minus calf work
Ab and core work
30 minutes stationary bike

Yep. Just give it some rest. It'll be better soon.

Nice workout. We worked the same today, although, I only did 9 minutes on the bike.

The March RW has an article about injury prevention. One of the 10 things mention was RICE and then they added P to RICE = PRICE. The P stands for protection which means don't run until it's better.
WAY to protect and let that calf gets feeling right again.

How you get feeling back to 100% soon. Any clues, as you look back over your training, as to what may have caused this strain?

My husband tore his calf muscle and is STILL out (almost 2 months), so be careful!!!!
I have to tell you that I did your 1 minute on/1 minute off workout yesterday and I wanted to quit. There was this guy in there that looked like you (if you looked at him through one sweaty drenched eye), so I pretended he was you and that you knew what workout I was doing and would know if I quit early. So, thanks for being YOU, I finished.

Mack, funny thing is, I don't think it had anything to do with running. On Monday night I jumped rope, so Tues morning my calves were a little tight. I did a lower body workout Tues morning and at the end of my calf raises felt the left calf tighten up a bit, but nothing too bad. I then got on the stair machine and while doing one of the speed intervals felt the sharp pain in the calf. I stopped immediately, but the damage was done. I think it was just an accumulation of all those things together that caused it.
Kelli, thanks for the reminder. I will be very careful tomorrow.
