Personal:
I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties. Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation. It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again. Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness and life.
Covered 7 miles at 7:30-8:00 pace. My right knee was stiff afterward. Last time I had this problem I fixed it with some basic strength training, particularly single leg squats.
Hot weather conditions. The most difficult 7 miles I've had in a long time. Slow pace, but mentally just draining. I think my body was protesitng the idea of a return to running daily. I was waiting for one of these days.
Wind, cold, and rain. You guessed it, treadmill time. Ran the last 0.5 mile about a minute faster than normal, which means slow instead of really slow.
Dealing with some "hot foot" now along with the stiff right knee. Still able to run, just not in comfort at times. I keep chugging along with injuries like these. Other than that, I 'm feeling more alive.
Easy run on the trail with my daughters who were riding bikes. I was wanting to go farther, but one got really tired so had to turn around. Not a big deal.
