Marathon PR - 3:05 (3:06 at Boston)

Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and some easy strength training.

Participate in races.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness and life.

Outdoor run on a pleasant morning.  I forgot it was Good Friday which made me a bit sad.  I've been emotional lately.  I miss my relatives and my best friend who've all passed.

Daughter went to ER last night.  She is doing better now.  I'm drained emotionally so took day off from everything.

Morning run outside in the rain.  Felt hard the whole time.  Mentally I'm still off from daughter's emergency on Sunday, but I think legs also felt flat because of calf raises I did a couple days ago.

I haven't completed a race in nearly 10 years so toeing the line and getting it done was an accomplishment just itself.  My goal was to run under 1:50 so stuck with that pace group and then ran the last mile as hard as possible.  Didn't check my watch at all and it definitely felt better not doing so.  It was a beautiful day.
