took the family down to Provo for homecoming and the game, my two oldest are students at BYU. Having just run a marathon a week before I didn't really care much how this race went so devised this strategy: survive getting up the hill to 900 east, run as fast as I could down 900 east, and then crash and burn and try to finish. Mile 1 (upjill, then start of downhill) 6:07. Mile 2: screaming down 900 east, 5:42. Mile 3, I don't want to run anymore, 6:35. Last 0.1, 6:02 trying to beat 19 minutes. mission accomplished.

After the race I talked to Doug Padilla for awhile. He is the RD and really nice, great guy. Miles batty ran the race too. cool.

Tailgated and went to the game. good game until 5 minutes left when BYU self destructed. oh well. my interest in football is waning. I don't even know if the pack is playing today or if the game is on TV. pathetic.

Good job on making your goal! We saw you get your award and were going to come introduce ourselves, but then you ran away.

Catherine, thanks, sorry I missed you, I took off right away because I had to catch up to my family for our big tail gate party. Also my cochlear implant was shorting out so i couldn't hear well. and had to go clean the sweat and salt out of it to get it working again! Hope to see you guys at another race soon!

Nice job! Don't know how you have that much speed in your legs one week after a pounding SGM. I feel pretty good when I can break 19 min fresh.

Sub 19 is very good a week after Stg!!!

No worries - now that we know who you are, we won't have to wait to see you go to the podium before we can come say hi.

Amazing to get that in on post-marathon legs.

First of all, who is Jill? Second, nice job on a fast 5k. Third, and last, I'm glad the short in the cochlear implant didn't fry your brain.

How's the body doing after that intense couple months of racing? Staying busy? Hopefully, that nagging PF isn't bothering you anymore.

thanks for the comments guys, geez I am backlogged here...Erik, the night splint took care of the PF pretty well, I tried a strassborg sock and that was too uncomfortable so went to a rigid night splint. works like a charm. still have a trace of PF and it flares when i don't wear the splint.
