No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

I put in 8 hilly miles this morning and felt pretty good considering the 15 I did with Preston yesterday.

Today's run was pretty easy aside from it being a little icy. I'm looking forward to the extra hill on my 8 miler tomorrow.

The first 4 miles were great this morning. Some of yesterday's snow was still on the ground, but it was warm enough that the streets were wet, and the moon was bright so visibility was good. By about 5:00am everything was covered with ice and it was a very slippery 4 miles home. If it doesn't warm up a little, I'll be sleeping in tomorrow.

Easy run this morning; it seemed short. I probably should have done another mile or two.

8 miles at what I thought was a slow comfortable pace. It turned out to be a little quicker than I thought. That is definitely a good thing. I'm looking forward to a long run tomorrow.

I did another 15 miler with Preston and Carl this morning. Both of these guys are much better runners than I am, which is a good thing. I managed to keep up OK today, but near the end of the run I wasn't much for conversation any more, I couldn't afford to waste much breath talking. We averaged about a minute slower than my goal marathon pace and I was pretty tired toward the end. I still have a lot of work to do before June. Only one more week until 15k race day.
