Soggy 10 miler with Karina. The best part was when she said "Take that! You stupid hill!" when we got to the top of the hill where she had to walk last week.

Not just soggy but blustery too (i was missing my friday running buddy).

Way to go Karina, sounds like she is really improving and getting to spend great quality time with dad!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Fri, Oct 19, 2012 at 14:34:56 from 174.253.208.94

Preston - Yes, she's doing great and I'm really enjoying the quality time. I do miss running faster with you though.

At the rate I'm going with one run per week, Karina is going to be in better shape than me pretty soon.

Did you really do the math on that Trap, or was that just an expression?

From DLTheo on Fri, Oct 19, 2012 at 18:43:28 from 76.28.161.119

Sounds like she has the right mentality for running! Will she be at the Resolution Series?

From Steam8 on Sun, Oct 21, 2012 at 15:10:27 from 166.70.55.77

What is going on Trap? I am used to looking at your page and seeing 10-10-10-10-10- at 6 min miles! Are you recovering from something? I hope you are okay and it is nothing serious!

From rAtTLeTrAp on Sun, Oct 21, 2012 at 21:46:40 from 24.19.80.36

Burt - I did the math and according to my calculations this event will occur in precisely pretty soon.

Scott - She is more likely to be running the Resolution Series than I am.

Steam - Serious issues with my right foot and left ankle. I think I am suffering from too many birthdays.

I love Karina's attitude!

Now, how do we get you well?

From Carl on Mon, Oct 22, 2012 at 18:32:02 from 24.19.78.45

I was skimming through your blog. It looks like you are only running once or twice a week right now. Most of the runs seem to be medium distance and a lot of the miles are on the fast side.

What do you think of this recovery training plan?

Run every other day (as long as you're not in pain)

Short easy runs only: 25-40 min (or 3-4 miles)

Pace of 8:30 or slower. 9 min/mi might be better.

From rAtTLeTrAp on Mon, Oct 22, 2012 at 19:11:08 from 24.19.80.36

Thanks for the input Carl. I wouldn't really call this recovery or training. I'm just spending some quality 9-10 minute miles with Karina and a few times I've added a few faster miles if she cuts it short. I still have consistent pain in my foot when I'm running(shhh, don't tell Karina). It doesn't hurt at all when I stop so I'm almost positive it's a neuroma like I had in my other foot a couple years ago. I going back to the doc for that as soon as I have time to make an appt. My left ankle is also giving me grief, but I think that will be fine if I get more consistent about stretching.

From DLTheo on Tue, Oct 23, 2012 at 12:23:54 from 155.130.107.42

You gotta watch out for that. Too many birthdays will kill you!

I think you're right about the foot. Stress fractures hurt all the time.
