5:30am

I usually have some company on my Saturday runs, but today I was solo, unless I count shredded mini toe as a partner. I ran at comfortable pace on a pretty flat course and never looked at my time until the end. I felt really good at 15 miles so I decided to go for 20 today. Around mile 18 my legs started feeling really heavy, but I wanted to finish the whole 20 so I just tried to concentrate on maintaining my form and didn't worry at all about speed. I finished feeling OK but not great. Then I looked at my garmin and saw that my average pace was faster than my goal marathon pace! No wonder I was so tired! This is pretty encouraging considering I still have almost 3 months left to train before race day.

HOLY CRUD!!! You ran 20 miles at that pace with your shredded wheat toe? You are truly amazing.

So, when is this marathon that you are going to destroy?

Yay for Speedie Socks! I can't believe how fast you are! I am super proud of you. Your hard work and discipline is totally paying off! Can't wait to go to Boston. I have so much confidence in you, I just might book the hotel now!

great run today! looks like you need to adjust your goals...already running 20-milers faster than MP goal pace is a great sign. keep it up!

From rattletrap on Sat, Apr 04, 2009 at 22:25:36 from 24.19.93.139

Kelli - The marathon is June 27 and I do believe I'm going to destroy another PR :)

Kym - Speedy socks? The Drymax socks are super cushy, but you are the one that deserves credit for all of my progress. This training has taken a serious bite out of our schedule and you are so patient and supportive! I Love You!!!

Allie - I thought about changing my goal and shooting for 3:10 so I could qualify for the NY Marathon too, but I think it's too early for me to be getting all excited about that.

I just added my splits and elevation chart for this run if anyone is interested.

From Kelli on Tue, Apr 07, 2009 at 15:39:28 from 71.219.95.20

Those elevation charts freak me out. That make it look like you ran up a bunch of mountains! Did you run up a bunch of mountains????

Awesome splits. Very cool! I need to plug my Garmin into the computer and do that and see what my Herriman Hill workout looks like on an elevation chart. That would be nifty. But, I stink at using technology!!!!

SportTracks is your friend. Use it instead of the garmin software. It's got super-techy details and it's still "fisher price easy"!

From rattletrap on Tue, Apr 07, 2009 at 16:18:01 from 75.216.42.10

No mountains :) The scale is on the left. My 10 miler is half the distance with twice the elevation change. Those hills seem more like mountains.

From Kelli on Tue, Apr 07, 2009 at 16:26:06 from 71.219.95.20

Fisher Price friendly, huh? okay, I am going to go check it out. Where do I find it?

I have no clue what elevation changes I make in a run, so, as far as I am concerned you ran up a bunch of mountains!

How is the toe?

From rattletrap on Tue, Apr 07, 2009 at 16:38:39 from 75.216.42.10

Sport Tracks here:

"shredded mini toe" is much better, still ugly, but no pain. My arch is much better today too.

From Kelli on Tue, Apr 07, 2009 at 16:56:34 from 71.219.95.20

I forgot about the arch! Glad things are getting better!

Okay, I have to download stuff? That is so not "Fisher Price Easy"!!! But, I WILL figure it out when my homework is done!
