I ran out towards Payson park but stopped about a half mile short to cut out the hilly portion and then I tacked on a mile loop around my house at the end of the run... My legs were feeling really tired and I think it was from the 14 holes of Golf that I walked yesterday, pretty hilly:-) But after a mile warm up I threw in a few strides at the end of each mile and my legs seemed to wake up some what, but I must still be feeling the affects of the race last Saturday, which is kind of surprising, oh well no pain no gain! My average pace was 8:57 with my heart rate at 139, total time was 1:04:06... I hope to get in 10 miles tomorrow morning before I go golfing, so I will have to get up pretty early but that shouldn't be a problem:-)

Clay remember the running rule-of-thumb that says for a hard race expect to have to take as many days as there were miles in the race to fully recover. For 1/2 marathons I haven't always felt like it necessarily has taken 2 weeks to recover, but for those races where I've really pushed it that has been about right.
