Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Nuttin'!

Kindergarten testing I had to be home for this morning - not enough time to go to the gym and my 3 year old slept until 10:30 and by then I was well into my projects and didn't want to stop for the gym. Meh...oh well :)

On the bright side I did get ALL the baby stuff washed and folded and the changing table, car seat, bouncer and bassinet are ready to go! All I now need to do is actually PACK a bag to take to the hospital, I have all the stuff - just not all in one place.

Hopefully, my last doctor's appointment tomorrow...

Met the BBK's this morning. When I got the email yesterday a certain word caught my attention: TRACK. I've been wanting to go to group for about a month now, but didn't want to have to run hard to keep up or be alone. When I saw track workout, I knew I could have my cake and eat it too! I could get my running friend fix before baby, I could walk or run as slow as needed for the hour and still see everyone and chat. So, I made the effort to get up and go this morning. It was SO worth it!

With only a week left, I think most were a little surprised to see me :) I ran the first 2 non stop with Nancy, then we did a walk 1 lap, run 2 until she needed to leave. After checking what time it was (the group had gone to the road for a tempo after their 800's), I came back did another full mile and then the last one was just picking up a lap or two here and there with people running their last 'cool down' laps. I was happy to get out with good running friends and have a beautiful run in the sunrise! It was perfect! Thanks all who entertained me during my shuffle today :)

No pace, left the garmin at home. I'd think it was close to a 10mm though.

Now to kick the kids out of the house and I'll go to the gym and get some elliptical/reading time in and then off to the doctor's. Crossing my fingers it's a go that this really will be my last appointment and I'll be induced next Tuesday if I don't go on my own by then.

***Well, it's official. Only one more week pregnant, if that. I got the final nod for induction next Tuesday, so if I'm still pregnant then and they have room for me at the hospital I will have the baby in one week. Excited to be done, but nervous/anxious about all the work and sleepless nights and TINY little being to take care of. Guess I should've thought about that a few months ago :) ***

Surgery day today. Since we had to be up and out early no workout for me this morning. My 3 yr old's surgery went GREAT and now we get to hang out at home all day doting on him. No problems with that for me :)

Yup, fell asleep at 10 on the couch trying to watch the news. Went to bed around midnight, then slept till 8. I feel GREAT today!!

Hit the gym, 60 min on the elliptical @ L8 - total of 4.5 miles. Feet were falling asleep, so I moved to the TM. 30 min, 10% grade @ 3.2 mph - total of 1.5 miles.

Had a great time reading and chatting with everyone at the gym. Wow, I really can't believe I only have 5 days left, or 5 'sleeps' as I would explain to my kids :)

Having a bad 'end of pregnancy' day. Could have to do with the fact that I'll be babysitting or working from 7AM till 9PM and not on my own schedule today.

*sigh* I hope tomorrow is better...

60 min spin class - good hard class! I'll miss it next week.

30 min on the TM, regular 'ol 10% grade @ 3.0 mph - 1.5 miles total. I then slowed it down for a couple minute cool down and got into my book and walked another 17 minutes :) but it was a super slow 2.0 mph pace or something.

Fun date with my daughter this afternoon, and then to the BBQ to see Burt this evening! If you haven't seen the post check out Kelli's blog
