Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Wonderful and uneventful Monday morning run. It was good to get up and out, I did sleep in a little bit, because I was going to do 7 miles, but only had time for 4 before hubby left so I didn't have to take baby.

Cardio felt better today than it has been, but the legs are sore. I forget how much DN trashes your quads!

Did the stake 5K loop with an extra mile on the end, didn't catch my 5K time, but it would've been slow. I was please to see the only 9+ mile was the worst of the uphill AND it wasn't as terrible as I thought it was going to be.

Back to school today - wow year round summers really do go quickly!!

I'm going to try to get to the gym this morning and do step aerobics too...but I'm not counting on baby cooperating so we'll see!

Adam was great at the gym and slept long enough for me to do step class and ab's class - man ab's is SO much harder than I remember!!

You sure haven't lost your speed. I was crawling this morning compared to you.

Way to go.

Great job Rachael. You will be back to your normal fast speed in no time.

Where and what time did you run? I thought I might have seen you this morning.

Carolyn, I was REALLY surprised to see the pace, it didn't feel that fast at all. I guess all the extra weight during pregnancy really did help :) Too bad I'm still carrying most of it!

Thanks Paul! Hope you get a nice recovery week this week.

Nancy, I was thinking this morning that last year my goal was to run FASTER than this for 26 miles to BQ...yeah, not sure that'll happen this year!

James, I basically ran around my neighborhood (Butterfield Canyon Elementary), but the main roads I hit were 13400S (from the dead end down to 6400W) then up 6400W and turned west on Rose Canyon then back into the neighborhood. I usually wear a pink visor, running skirt and I always have my long blond pony tail swaying along as well :)

NICE job on the run and gym class!

You guys have year round school - LUCKY DUCK! I always feel like we loose so much by taking so much time off.

Man, you are fast!

From RAD on Mon, Jul 26, 2010 at 23:24:11 from 67.172.229.125

Smooth, thanks! I was worried about Adam in the day care, but luckily he slept all but the last 10 minutes and one of the ladies was happy to hold him (and he wasn't crying) for a few minutes while ab's class finished. We'll see how tomorrow goes...

Toby, Funny, because I always wish we were on traditional! It's the breaks throughout the year that get to me after a while. I don't feel fast, just happy to not be carrying around a huge gut anymore - now it's just all sitting on my hips!!

Hey RAD, just keep after it and the soreness from D-News will go away and the "Love handles" and "baby weight" will go away too, just get your nutrition program and exercise program under control....

From RAD on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 13:55:26 from 67.172.229.125

Slick, the soreness is getting better, but after ab's class yesterday I've got a whole new area to deal with! The exercise program is getting under control, but the nutrition is lacking...just a bit :)
