Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Holy Cow!!! I learned what it means to be a BBK this morning! There were a few times I thought I was going to have to keep running sprints until noon!!! Can't wait to start the two hour workouts :)

We started with a nice easy 3 mile warm-up. I love doing the warm-up because jumping in for the main workout is always 10X as difficult!  9:30, 9:06, 8:48

I was pleased with what came next: 4 laps around the track, but push the last 100M of each one. Totally doable!  I felt good keeping up with Peggy while she was taking it easy :) AP 8:06, I still need to figure out how to put the laps for the sprints on my Garmin - I think Kelli figured it out today, so I'll have to take a tutorial!

Then the fun began- push a 200, recover 200, push 400, recover 200 and repeat until Cheryl said to stop. I had NO idea how long this would last, but wanted it over with a lot sooner than Cheryl did!! I finished at 7.6 miles so my next splits were: 7:19, 7:47, 7:44, 7:48. Looking at the patterns on the Garmin I can tell where my push and recovery was and it looks like I was keeping a descent pace at or under 7mm for the sprints and recovering around 8:30 mm.

Okay, so were finished..right? WRONG. Cheryl said we were going to the road and I figured we were going to take a nice cool down, boy was I wrong. 1.8 mile loop at 1/2 marathon pace or better - YUCK, my legs were already jello, its nice to simulate what mile 24-26 feels like though!!! Next split: 7:48 (first 1/2 was in the previous split above). I finished at 8.4 miles and ran another .1 to recover and even things out before we left.

WAIT! wrong again! "back to the track" Cheryl said. If the puke wasn't pushing my head up my chin would've hit the floor! We lined up and pushed another 200, I tried to keep up with Kelli, but my poor legs couldn't match her speed and determination for the last 50 feet. Then we did another 200M sprint, and YES this was finally the end!!! I had one lap left to finish 9, so I took a recovery/victory lap with Peggy. Last split: 8:27.

I really love to push myself and speed up these legs, but during the run I wonder if its worth it...Then I kill my PR in a race by not seconds, but MINUTES and am so glad I have these wonderful people to help me run and puke my guts out to make me better!!! Thanks all you BBK's I owe you one!

You did awesome this morning Rachel!! You have gotten so flippin' speedy is such a short amount of time, you are going to keep amazing yourself and everyone around you!

That tempo run in the middle about had me hurling. I just wanted it over, but my legs would not go fast enough to get me home!!!

Ughhh, it was tough. I love the comment about the puke holding your chin up. So funny! See you at the gym tomorrow, right? It has been 9 days for me!!!!

Oh, I will be at kick-boxing. It is honestly one of my favorite classes! However, I won't be running in the morning :) Nathan's fever is gone this morning so I'll feel okay about taking him to the nursery tomorrow too.

You did great. I need to tell everyone the important thing is to finish the workout and feel like you could do a little more. In other words, don't feel like you need to kill yourself. I know, it's hard in the group. Anyway, you looked strong to me today and I couldn't tell you were on the verge of being sick. That's usually me!

Devine Miss M, is this the same Cheryl I know? This sounds like a new BS Rools, don't stop until you puke? This is always a tough call? Do you get commando points for puking or taking it to the edge without puking. Sounds like my kind of fun.

Cheryl, expect a great St.George from you, hope to see you at the 10 year club banquet again this year. Cheryl, I am about ready to give you a handle leading those tough workouts.

K-Power, good heck, your an animal, one tough workout after another.

Stay Kool, Super Chickas, B of BS Rools out

Cheryl, I did have a good run this morning. I actually wasn't too bad and I didn't feel it until we stopped for good...just felt like I was 10 weeks pregnant nausea. NO ANNOUNCEMENT THERE! Just the way I felt :) I'm actually not as exhausted as I thought I would be today, so I probably could've pushed more. My fastest 200 was actually the 2nd to last one!

Bec, you get those legs back and you can come join us for torture day anytime!! :)

Brent, You would have a VERY fun time with us...come enjoy anytime!

Carolyn, as always anyone is welcome to torture anytime! :)

Rachel--I knew you looked strong on those 200s. And are you sure you're not pregnant?

Brent--yes it's me, your fellow 10 year (or more)club member. See you at St. George this year. It's really not that far off, is it?

Carolyn--come join us anytime you're in Utah

From RAD on Wed, Jun 17, 2009 at 14:15:09 from 67.166.99.8

Cheryl, YES I am sure!!! Absolutely no question in my mind right now :) If this wasn't a public blog I could tell you why, but if you think about it I'm sure you could figure it out :)
