Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Woke up at  4 this morning...I guess my body is getting used to me waking it at obscene hours on Saturday. Luckily I fell back asleep about 20 minutes later, but I didn't feel nearly as awake when the alarm went off at 6 :(  Another night of weird pregnancy dreams - had the baby this time, 15 pounds and I was tired so I fell asleep during the delivery and had to ask the doctor if I got an epidural or not. Oh, and he looked about 8 months old and had 4 teeth :)

Dropped gatorade at the end of Porter Rockwell so that I'd have motivation to get to the end, plus I dehydrate  a lot faster now and that is one thing I can't let happen now. Was SO happy to see a crowd waiting at the beginning, plus lots of new bloggers to meet and chat with: The amazing Kathie, Coach Slick, Crazy Maynard, Sweet Leslie and Speedy Smoothie.

Started out wonderfully, and the uphill gave me a run for my money, but I kept it nice and easy and I appreciate Coach and Maynard hanging with the slow pregnant lady! I had a wonderful visit with them, as we watched the grannies fade off into the horizon. Again about mile 4.5 I was reminded that  I am a distance person - I finally started feeling good!! The trip back was downhill and much faster (which with me now still isn't saying much). I could've added a couple more, but decided I was good and would leave those last 2 mystery miles for next week.

Party afterward was amazing as usual, plus Kathie showed us some great party tricks which I will now have to learn how to do :) Thanks again for everyone coming to keep me motivated and keep me company! I had a wonderful time and THIS is why I love running - good friends, good running, good food and good fun!!

Crazy Maynard, Sweet Leslie, and Speedy Smooth? Sounds like a menu.

Sometimes I have dreams that I'm falling asleep. It usually happens while I'm driving. It seems so real. lol

From RAD on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 15:00:29 from 67.172.229.125

lol! I hope that when I die I go peacefully in my sleep like Burt...not screaming and yelling like the people in his car :)

From Bec on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 15:05:21 from 76.23.55.210

Great run RAD! Once again you give me ways to brag about my 'prego friend.' I am not kidding, I tell people about how amazing you are all of the time.

Good luck next week! I am really considering going 'bandit.' I know that is horrible, but I am completely not ready to race. I would love to make a fifteen miler out of the half! We shall see.

From allie on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 15:05:57 from 67.177.0.102

wait a second...babies aren't born with teeth? since when?

great run today. you'll do great next week!

From Kathie on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 15:06:36 from 63.248.105.188

So fun to meet you Rad! You might not want to try the party tricks until after the baby! You did a killer run for 2 today! You are amazing!

From RAD on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 15:32:05 from 67.172.229.125

Becca, I think you should come and run slow with me :) It'll be fuuunnn....especially with everyone reading/commenting about my shirt :)

Allie, I guess they have teeth...just not showing yet :) No time attached to next week, I'm simply hoping to not get a personal worst.

Kathie, I guess I'll hold off...unless the baby tries to come early, might hold him off a bit :)

From Smooth on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 15:41:27 from 174.23.201.210

Rachel ~ THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for organizing this party! Serioulsy, you ran amazingly fast for being prego! You will have so much fun especially wearing the comment on your shirt! Am laughing just thinking about it!

That baby only had 4 teeth? Best way to have a baby is in your sleep!

From Maurine/Miles on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 16:03:42 from 97.117.77.234

Sorry I missed the fun. I couldn't have run much anyways, and my body needed sleep. Are you doing the Salt Lake Half?

From Tom Slick on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 16:05:18 from 172.190.31.130

Hey RAD woman, thanks for the great run this morning. Was fun and full of good friends. I can't believe your so prego and running so fast. I noticed on my garmin that we actually hit about a 6.5 pace (for a little while)on the way back. Thanks for the goodies at the end. Hope we can all get together and do it again. Your not going to have any problems doing the SLC 1/2 next saturday, you're going to rock it, both of you!!!

From Bec on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 17:26:10 from 76.23.55.210

What will your shirt say? I am WAY curious? Knowing you it will beat the 26.2 Virgin shirt!

Guess what song they played in spin today? Yep, 'Chicken Fat.' I rolled off of the bike in laughter. Why is it that I imagined you doing this as a child AND an adult?!

From Burt on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 19:30:21 from 68.3.63.229

"Give that chicken fat back to the chicken and don't be chicken again. No, don't be chicken again..."

From KP on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 20:06:06 from 98.67.164.65

Nice run, RAD!

Like I tell you everyday, you are kicking my butt at 7 months pregnant. When the baby pops out (that's what happens, right... they just magically appear?) I'm hoping you'll take some time off to rest... that way I can MAYBE have a chance of keeping up with you.... if only for your first week back. I doubt that will even happen!

You'll do amazing next week!

From Nancy on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 21:07:28 from 76.27.19.206

All I have to say is "Wow." I can't believe you can run so far and do so much exercise while pregnant. Dreams can be so weird. It is always nice to wake up and find out it was only a dream.

From RivertonPaul on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 23:19:05 from 75.169.11.31

Nice job keeping at it.

From RAD on Sun, Apr 11, 2010 at 00:17:24 from 67.172.229.125

Smooth, you're welcome - thanks for bringing all the people :) I'm still a little crazy about that dream, worried I'll totally miss labor/delivery!

Maurine, we did miss you, but I know you'll be back soon! Yes, I have a free entry to SLC 1/2, so I'm making the most of it!

Slick, thanks to you as well! I had a wonderful run - but I've noticed trying to talk and breathe makes me a bit slower :) However, still totally worth it!!

Becca, "If you think I'm having fun, I'm not...the fun part was seven months ago!" Then I think on the front I'm going to do a 'belly quote' (like from the baby) "HELP! I'm running out of womb!!" :) I can NOT believe I missed chicken fat!!! I honestly had never heard of it either until Burt's blog. Lauren just told me last week her teacher has them do PE to it sometimes - made me laugh!! So, I actually would've LOVED to finally exercise to it. Maybe Danny will play it again for me on 4/24 when I get back at it.

Burt, I love your blog :)

KP, you do more ALL day - I just do it for an hour or so, then sit around on FB and FRB all the rest of the day :)

Nancy, I still eat too much for me eating = running; otherwise it's too much guilt :) Amen on the dreams; however, today I've kept coming back to this one and it's really bugging me!

Paul, thanks - we just keep truckin' along!

From Maynard on Sun, Apr 11, 2010 at 00:36:23 from 71.213.42.198

Crazy Maynard? I'm not arguing or disputing the title--I'm sure it's well deserved. But what exactly sealed it?

It was nice to both meet and run with you this morning!

From Bec on Sun, Apr 11, 2010 at 15:30:06 from 76.23.55.210

That shirt totally beats '26.2 Virgin.' HAHAHAHA! I know why you are running this half now! Only to show the shirt I am sure.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sun, Apr 11, 2010 at 17:16:45 from 24.8.167.243

You are a lucky girl.

From RAD on Sun, Apr 11, 2010 at 17:23:16 from 67.172.229.125

Maynard, it's your impressive June schedule - 50 milers, marathons, a few more 50 milers - yeah, I hope to someday be able to run a 50K!!! (whenever I give someone 'crazy' please take it as a sheer compliment!!)

Becca, you know me all too well :)

Carolyn, some days are 'luckier' than others, but yesterday I certainly was!!

From Brent on Sun, Apr 11, 2010 at 23:07:25 from 66.7.127.219

Devine Miss M - commando points for two, the baby must be runner, nice run, good luck next saturday.

From Tom Slick on Mon, Apr 12, 2010 at 09:38:45 from 168.179.156.166

Let me know if you want or need somebody to come and run along with you at the SLC 1/2. If you do I'd be glad to come tag along with you.

From leslie peterson on Tue, Apr 13, 2010 at 11:01:54 from 174.52.158.81

It was fun to see you all, if just for a few minutes! You are amazing to be able to do all you do while being pregnant!

Good luck on the half Sat.!!! I am probably going to do a training run on part of the course, maybe I will get lucky and bump into you!
