Short-Term Running Goals:

Okay, so for 2013 I am going to have FUN! Not that running isn't always fun, but I had a wonderful breakthrough year last year and I want to play this year :) AND get faster! So, my first goal I'm going to put out there is my yearly mileage goal.
It is 2,186 miles from my driveway to my sister (QP's) driveway! I want to spend this year on a virtual trek cross country running those miles. So, that is how far I will run in 2013...from my house to QPs. It will take all year and yes, this is measured on Hwys so it isn't really exactly how I COULD run it, but good enough. 43 miles/week...totally doable, and a fun goal to track how far I've traveled as I go along. Who knows...maybe I'll even run PAST her house :)

I will do more trail runs, Boston, Pacing duties, another Half IM and some other tris. I'm excited for this next year and look forward to having fun with all of you out on the roads, and trails! Maybe bag a few peaks this year too!!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Big Dreams: 5K in 20:2X; 10K in 39:XX; Half in 1:29:XX; Full in 3:15:XX; complete the Rim2Rim2Rim run and not die; Comrades; Iron(wo)Man.

Run for the rest of my life!

Personal:

4 children: twelve, eight, five and baby Fartlek - 2 1/2. Wonderful supportive husband that lets me drag him and the family all over for race after race!

Finished 13 marathons and LOVE running that distance! I'm definitely hooked to the marathon monster and hope to constantly improve my endurance, speed and stay injury free!

I've also found a love of trail running! I hope to keep improving on this front.

After being injured with a broken foot at the first of 2012 I found a tri group and started training with them and am now loving tris! The half IM was harder than I'd ever imagined...and am ready to do it again. I'll earn my bike butt and someday have enough time to train for a full IM.

Did my first Tri this morning, reverse of course. Couldn't sleep @ 4 this morning anyway, so I got up and headed to the gym.

50 minutes on the TM - 9 min of walking 1 min running, I finished the last minute of running with an additional one, so 2 min in a row :) Total: 49 min walking @ 10% grade 3.2 mph & 6 min running @ 6.5 mph 1% grade.

90 min spin class today. It was a Good class - drenched afterward. I really liked the hill intervals (speed work, but with lots of resistance, felt like hill sprints!).

1 mile swim in approx 40 min. I timed the last 2 quarters and they were just over and under 10 min, so I'll say 40 to round things out. I did stop and rest each quarter though, so total elapsed time was longer.

Great workout and makes me excited to do a tri sometime, but a reverse one of course - I hate to be swim pool wet. I also had a great time hanging out with Becca, I don't know how I'd get through this 'recovery' if it wasn't for her company each Saturday!!

Yo lady, you save me every Saturday. Thank you for being the motivation behind my workout today. Just knowing I get to talk to you helps me a ton. Yay for no book worm lady today.

Devine Miss M - the bountiful triathlon is a reverse Tri - run, bike and then pool, fun race - you would smoke me on the swim, great swim time, takes me 52 minutes for a mile. Being a Tri Geek - good thing.

Great job Rachel. If you can do that much while you are pregnant, think how great you'll be when you're not pregnant.

Becca, if it wasn't for you inviting me to the gym in the first place I'd probably still be sitting around whining about not getting to exercise (run) on Saturdays!

Brent, I'm now thinking I may try a tri - just need a bike, wet suit, shoes...oh, never mind I have no money! :) (when's that lottery money coming?) The 40 min was SWIM time, if you put in the time I rested it was 50+ minutes! Not a great swimmer, have to stop and breathe.

Nancy, I'm trying to keep up the cardio so I can start running again *sigh* it seems like the day will never come when I can do a long run again!

Wow. Look at the multi-sport athlete.

Carolyn, when you are stuck in a GYM you have to do something to break up the monotony of not moving when you exercise :)

Glad that your recovery has gone well. Thanks for the info on my blog. Way to keep with it while prego. I trained and ran a marathon while prego and it made it go by fast. I still got all fat and stuff, but I get big when pregnant anyway. One funny thing about being really active when pregnant, the umbilical was really fat and short. I had a friend who's did the same thing. I would be interested to hear if yours is also. Good luck with the pregnancy! Keep up the awesome work!

Callie, the getting fat while working so hard is probably the worst part! I feel like I shouldn't be gaining anything. Too bad I'm eating like a horse :) Interesting about the umbilical - I'll try to remember to see!

Nice workout!!! Makes me tired just thinking about it.

How fun to do a backward tri. I am thinking about taking up swimming soon. I have never swam for exercise so it is a little intimidating for me. Great workout!
