Short-Term Running Goals:

Doing a few more 1/2 marathons this year and continue to support new runners by running with them!

Personal:

Blessed to live in beautiful Fountain Hills, AZ during winter/spring months then in beautiful Idaho Falls, ID in the summer/fall months!  Thoroughly enjoy hiking, golfing, and running all year round (not into cold winter sports)! Married to Rob for 22 years ~ Two 19 year old college teens!

Early morning run today due to a busy day so I went to the gym for this one, of course by the time I was done it was light and beautiful outside!

2:10:01 minutes.  Reported as easy, but definitley NOT, I think it's impossible to have an easy run in Ftn. Hills, but I loved every minute of it after mile 3.5!

Craziness!  I had a hard time sleeping because I was so excited to see how I'd do on this long run so I finally got up at 5am and went to the gym.  As soon as I started running I had a weird pain on the side of my left leg (guessing IT band) but stuck it out for the first 10 miles.  I then came home, took some ibuprofin, a GU and went outside for the last six which were a little better but a slower than normal pace at 9:23.  Geez, I really want to do the PF full in January so hopefully meeting with a phys. therapist on Monday will help the short time I have left to build up my quads.  I thoroughly enjoyed the run outside and could of kept going but could sure feel it after I stopped running!

Looking forward to a recovery run tomorrow to see how it all goes after sticking with ibuprofin today!

8:41 pace!

Had a very good phys. therapist appt. yesterday, learned a couple new stretches that will be great for me.  He suggested after two days off to try a run this morning, ran 4 miles but darn IT band started nagging me immediately and throughout the whole run. Doesn't hurt exactly just a dull ache, do I still keep running or skip more days or give up on the full PF Chang and stick with the full?  Very disappointed!

Worked out w/PT today doing a little TM & elliptical.  Could feel my IT band on TM but not elliptical, we're wondering if it's because I use the balls of my feet better than on the TM, hmmm - totally makes sense.  Was then able to run on the TM at a slower pace with keeping my mind on my feet and it felt better, might have to change up a little but not sure I can do that before PF Chang full, at least I can probably still do the 1/2 while figuring all this out!

Weights, then 3 miles on elliptical with no twinges what-so-ever and could only do 1/2 mile on the TM or less before feeling my IT Band, so I stopped so I can get passed this darn thing!  At least I can elliptical, I'd hate to get too grumpy right before Christmas with no cardio at all...

Tried running outside today, IT Band is still not good at all which is so discouraging.  Doesn't hurt at all ever, unless I'm running!  I think I was only able to run a mile or less before feeling it but tried on and off for four miles!
