Sorry guys for not blogging more I've just been busy and not much to say.

My foot surgery is scheduled for April 6th. There are two possible procedures. Both require cutting into my foot on the top and bottom. One procedure requires cutting the bone and putting pins and screws in the straighten the toe. Neither procedure sounds good. When I ask if I can run again the doctor says "that's the hope".

We'll see how it goes! :-)

Good luck with that. We have surgery at my house all of a sudden too (not me), never a happy time. For whatever it's worth, I think doctors are always conservative with those sorts of predictions. Their opinions are based on the statistical mean of the patients they see, not super fit people like yourself who are literally 1 in a thousand. My back doctor was certain that if I ever ran again it would be at a shuffle, even though he is a runner himself, yet I hope to be challenging a PR in Boston in 3 weeks. I'm pretty sure you'll be back better than ever.

Thanks for the update. God speed for a correct fix and quick healing.

From Rhett on Sat, Mar 28, 2015 at 19:35:36 from 199.117.154.54

Good luck. What would happen if the amputated it? Would you be able to run then?

From Tom Slick on Sun, Mar 29, 2015 at 07:37:34 from 69.171.160.11

Good luck and God bless, and I know that you will do the right thing for you Bro-Preston! and don't forget to keep us in the loop, ya know we all care!!! FYI, I had neck surgery on 3rd of March and it's been a real pain in the neck getting trained up for Boston......

From Derunzo on Sun, Mar 29, 2015 at 19:43:08 from 73.218.33.75

You'll be back running for sure! No doubt in my mind.

You'll be back. With a more Aerodynamically designed toe! Secret weapon - The Stealth Toe!

From Matt Schreiber on Tue, Mar 31, 2015 at 21:25:14 from 66.17.102.175

Before reading what Flatlander said, I thought, sweet! If your doctor's saying, "that's the hope", he's saying yes. As a doctor, he's got to be conservative in his predictions. You'll be rockin' in no time.
