All I can say is that this was a very discouraging run. I was trying to manage my HR but I should have been able to run this same run at a 7:30-7:45 pace at a 153 avg. HR. Don't know what's going on...but it's not good :-(

What are you talking about? Looks like a great run to me! Nice job today!!!!

you know what, I remember from last year there was about a 1-2 week acclimation period before summer hits, where everything feels terrible when it's warm like that. So I think it's definitely temperature-related. There's just a crappy adjustment period...at least there was with me. It's too bad it has to happen ALREADY, in March!

For me, cardio fitness slips away fast if I take too many run days off. Don't worry it will come back just as fast as it went once you get back in a routine. I have yet to find any cross training that is even close to running, cardio-wise. The more running days I string together the lower my HR gets at the same or even faster pace. The hard part is finding a balance of days off so I don't beat up my legs.

It is a balance, I agree. You will be bringing it again I am sure

I'd say your body is still in post-marathon recovery mode. Running off pace by 30-60 seconds/mile is pretty normal for the first month.

Thanks guys...I guess I was feeling a little sorry for myself. I think it's just a "perfect storm" (heat, hydration, recovery & mental) of things to get to this point. At least I don't have any injury issues :-) I'll push through this and hopefully come through it stronger in a couple of weeks!
