Long-Term Running Goals: Run a 5k under 18:00 Personal: Have been active my whole life, but turned my focus to running in 2006 after deciding to run a marathon. I really enjoy the training aspect and staying healthy, but mileage has been on the decline over the past 3 years due to work commitments, so focus has turned away from races and more on just staying fit enough to still enjoy getting out. | NOON 51:32 Went out for a cut-down run on the Willow Creek trail. Felt pretty sloppy and tired, so didn't go super hard and did .50 for the first interval instead of making it a mile. Ended up with: 2 x .50 with 2:00 recovery Splits were 3:05 & 3:03 2 x .25 with 1:00 recovery Splits were 86 & 85

| AM Ran a 5k at Wheelr Farm today. I really didn't feel like racing after how this week has been. Hopefully I'll feel better after daylight savings kicks in, but no real race plans until the SLC half next April, so gonna do some good cross training over the next few months and get some snowboard time in...YAY! Splits for the race were 6:08, 6:30, 6:46, and :31 for the last .10 (5:00 pace). Like I said I was pretty unmotivated and it showed later in the race, but coming up to about .25 to go a guy I had passed in the first mile had caught me and I couldn't give up without a fight. We bothed turned it on to the end and I was able to out kick him for the last 100 meters. Pretty unsuccessful race as far as overall performance goes, but was glad I could turn it on at the end. I shook the guy's hand at the finish line.

AM Took Griffin on his loop. Was gonna wear my Garmin, but
the battery was low, so no watch for that section. Then went out on a
5 mile loop I've done and sure enough the watch died. Not tryin to
break any records today, so no worries. |

| AM 5.10 in 36:39. Avg. 7:10 per mile Ran Griffin for 2 with no watch. Thans went out on Dinner time loop, with a little extra down by the river. Did a 2 mile pick up ini the middle. Splits were 6:45(slight uphill) & 6:38(slight downhill). Still feel a little beat up from Thursday's workout, but good overall.

| AM 11.96 in 1:30:53. Avg. 7:36 per mile Did a long run today around beautiful Bedford Texas. A little warmer than I'm used to(70 degrees instead of 30 degrees), but found a nice trail, and just cruised. There's a sweet field next to my in-laws house, that I'm gonna run some tempo miles on later in the week. It's mowed and marked all ready for the high school xc team.

| AM 6.52 tempo intervals in 49:11. Avg. 7:33 for entire run. Ran the field in my xc flats, but only brought thicker socks, so my feet felt a little cramped. Super windy here today as well, but I wasn't really goin for splits, just hard effort. About 2 mile warm-up, then 2 x 1 mile with 60 second rest in between, then 4 x 60 second with 60 second recovery. 1.20 for a cool down and now it's time to devour some turkey. Happy Thanks giving!
