Noon run, sunny, windy, temp. 52'

The first half mile heading into the wind was a bit cold then I started to warm up.  Just after that Cal appeared running the oppisite way so I ran with him for almost 5 miles on the Jordan pathway.  It was good to see Cal.  He is running but unfortunately, not pain free.

My legs were feeling good so I decided to run hard.  What a dumb idea.  Running hard hurts.  I must have mental problems because it sounds fun until I start doing it.  And it doesn't take long before it sound fun to do again.

Yesterdays faster pace flared up the tendon-bum-itis just a bit more than the normal.

The Jordan river was running high.  Hope the 35 million lbs. of carp in Utah lake don't make a trip down the Jordan.

I was going to run some easy 8:30 miles because I played basketball last night and I'm just a little sore but a guy entered the path just in front of me doing about 7:15 miles and of course I had to stay with him.  Luckily we went seperate ways after about a half a mile and then I slowed down but not back to the easy pace.

Morning run, rainy, temp. 48'

Our Wasatch Back relay team had a team run up Butterfield Canyon.  We had 7 members show up which I though was great considering the weather.

I ran with James and Brian.  Brian was only doing 4 miles and James and I were doing 10 miles.  Brian and James were going much faster than I'd have chosen but I decide to stay with them knowing it would only last for two miles.  After Brian turned back I slowed down plenty. James didn't like the slow pace but he didn't have much of a choice because he'd never been up the canyon and didn't have a Garmin.  James is 18 and on Bingham High track team. As we turned around to go back down the canyon James took a pit stop and I kept going.  He caught me with 1 mile left.  He was doing 4:55 mile avg. when he passed me.  I decided to keep up and after about a half a mile I was done but James's shoe came untied so I slowed way down and with about a quarter mile left James caught me again and the fast speed was on again.

I did about 8:45's up the canyon and about 6:25's down with the last mile in 5:45.

Taunia even came and did 5 miles in 55:00
