8:00AM start to the race. Wind and Light snow. Temp. 32-35 It was good to see some familiar faces at the starting line. For the first half mile Paul, Tom and I ran together, then Paul let us go. I ran with Tom for 5 or 6 miles then set out on my own. My goal was to get under 1:30 and beat my good friend Tom. At mile 9 I look back and Tom was still in sight so I ran mile 10 in 6:34 finally putting some distance between me and Tom. By miles 12 and 13 my brain was telling me to slow down and I was having a hard time remembering why I even like running. Running hard hurts but I over-rode my evil thoughts and kept pushing.
