I ran the April Fools 5K.  No fooling, and I took 1st place overall.  I was hoping that Dallas wouldn't be to far behind me but he got a side ache after only a quarter mile that hit him hard and wouldn't go away.

The course was two laps at Sugar House park and there were only about 75 people.  After a quarter mile I was thinking that I might be able to win this.  I was in 3rd and the pace was at 6:00 even.  After a half mile I was in 2nd place and the pace was slowing.  The 1st mile was in 6:27 and that is when I decided to push ahead and go at my pace.

Miles. 1)6:27,  2)6:26,  3)6:18

Total time 19:50.  I won a $50 gift card to Target and in the drawing I won a hooded sweatshirt.  Dallas got a 29:00 5K going slow with walk breaks.

Nice job and you better not be fooling!

Nice negative split on your 5k! That is a nice payout for small race. Walter, he didn't indicate that it was a 31 mile race (I guess it could have been just 0.31 miles though).

TBean,

congratulations on a great race. I have never won a race but it must feel good and it is a good reward for your past training and a good base for your future one.

$50 are also useful!!

Congratulazioni!!!
