| | Easy five miles on the 11th-Shore Drive loop after work. Brisk evening, but the sun was out and the wind was usually at my back. supernova glide 4 -- 94

| | Track workout with Mike after Jaguars practice wrapped up. Warmed up 1.5, then did 4x1 mile at 6:03, 6:11, 5:57, 6:06, w/800m jog between each. The times on those first two are probably a little slow because we had to run around the Special Olympics kids who were warming up on one corner. Then the Special Olympics started practicing relays, and sometimes we'd pass just as an athlete got a hand off. It's a different kind of track workout when you're racing alongside the Special Olympics team and all those kids are actively rooting against you. ("Beat those guys!" "Get off our track!") Then we cooled down a mile with the track to ourselves. 57:42 supernova glide 4

| | The weather's been decent lately, actually feels like spring, but we got a spring monsoon today so I took things inside. Five at the Y while watching Mel Kiper break down the NFC Central draft options, 7:40 to 7:30 pace, then walked a few laps on the track listening to that crazy Zumba music or whatever it is they do. Quite the variety of distractions at that Y.

| | Out to Lions Park for a loop and back, plus 5x100 striders on Shore Drive. Took a slight detour coming back on Old Wheaton Way to check out an urban trail project some guys I know are working on. They need people to use it repeatedly to beat down the overgrowth, so I decided to help. One section really needs the spring growth beaten back, so I ended up walking (squatting?) through a short stretch. Kind of a cool little trail in the middle of an otherwise all-streets run. Felt a little sluggish today until I got to the striders, then my legs loosened up. 47:29 supernova glide 4 -- 113

| | Met Mike and his brother-in-law Donnie on a wonderful sunrise run along Beach Drive. Early light on the Olympics, mild temps, Donnie yapping about who knows what the whole run. (He's fun, but a talker.) We probably ran a little fast in the middle portion, with a few miles around 7, but other than that a medium paced run that felt fine (except that we were late for breakfast again. We can't start on time for the life of us.) The run was actually 14, then I went over to track practice and ran a fartlek mile with my distance kids then had them work on relay handoffs. 1:46:20
