Personal:

Started running in November 2007 to get fit. Now I'm back almost to square one after back surgery. I did it once and I'll do it again.

"In truth, runners don't race other runners. They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares. And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Even years into running, he can get better."  Running for His Life by Michael Hall.

PM: Recovery run- easy 4M then last mile + @ goal MP (7:27/mi).  Closed out another month w/ 250+ miles.  Prior to this yr I'd only run that many mile in a month once, now I've done it 3 straight months. This is undoubtedly the best mileage base I've ever had going into a marathon.

Amazed at 250+ miles a month. Wow! When is your next marathon? I am sure you will qualify with running those miles. Nice work!

Thanks. Running Utah Valley a week from Saturday, so we'll find out soon enough.

I ran that last year! It rained the entire first 13 and I had bloody blisters on my heels. Have you ever run it before? Good luck! I hope you qualify!

Nope. I heard last year was rough. I'm hoping for similar temps w/o the precipitation this yr. Thanks again.

Be prepared for some hills between about 7 and 13. They seemed to go on forever! haha! The last 13 were great......nice and downhill. I'll be watching to see your post. You will do it!
