8 miles!  Left hip felt pretty strong today!!  My right calf was a little tight though.  Did some self massage and calf stretches afterwards.  I'm certain my calves will thank me later once they adjust to my zero drop shoes.  I've been running exclusively in Altras ever since surgery because I feel like they help me be closely tuned in to my form and keep a light foot strike with a fast cadence.  It would be easy to get lazy and sloppy with my form in any of the other many big heeled shoes I have on my shelf, but I'm loving the Altras.  I feel my feet and calves getting stronger and my form feels great!

Congratulations on the progress. What a great feeling it must be to have escaped the decommissioned runner slaughter house!

Yay for strong hip! I am not having my surgery until February 3 of next year. I guess that is how long it takes to get in with a good surgeon - ughhh. These next 3 months are going to be pretty rough with anticipation (not to mention the pain). I am going to have to check out these Altras everyone has been talking about. Keep up the good progress!

have totally been investigating the Altras and feel pretty confident that my feet and form are going to love them. I am always walking around without shoes and can't stand heels in shoes or padding and have always had a hard time liking ANY running shoes on my feet due to all the padding....until I tried on the Altras and was like-"hey these feel right, like how all my shoes should feel". Thanks for putting the seal on the deal by your comments on the Altras :D.
