11.25 miles at Jeremy Ranch with my team. Really happy with my team today. Everyone reached their goal of "longest run ever'.

Abby ran 10 miles!

I have a question... most of the people who read my running blog are from Utah and you know that last year at this time I was thinking seriously about leaving Utah because of the near intolerable hostility for teachers and public education in this state which mostly comes from our Republican dominated state legislature and our unelected state school board and superintendent.

My question is, after reading something like this, what is your reaction? As a teacher for 14 years in Utah, I can guarantee you that it's almost all true.

Seems like the same thing is happening in IL. Applying business like administration to education across the board simply won't work. Fiscal responsibility is important, but the system is not producing and selling widgets. Many soft factors to consider.

77% Turn over of teachers - and only a 71% graduation rate with 90% of those who have graduated, not at grade level proficiency in math - is all the data all I would need to know to terminate Mr. Smith.

Scripted curriculums? How about just sitting the students down in front of a computer or tv - no need for actual teaching.

Move to GA. They have 160 runners on the girls and boys cross country team at the school where Bradlea is teaching.

But instead he was actually promoted to head the state board so he can do the same thing for the entire state.

Well, why break the model just because it's the state. I mean, that is exactly what happens at the district level and school level.
