I ran 20 miles today in 2:29:48 (7:29). Up and down emmigration canyon.

I don't know why. But I do know this... when I got home from the run there was this huge bowl of little Snickers bars on the counter. I ate about seven of them. Yum.

Splits:

1. 8:19

2. 8:04

3. 7:55

4. 7:55

5. 7:45

6. 7:49

7. 7:42

8. 7:52

9. 7:57

10. 7:35

11. 7:03 - heading back down the canyon now

12. 7:07

13. 7:12

14. 7:10

15. 7:01

16. 7:00

17. 6:57

18. 7:02

19. 6:58

20. 7:22

OK, I do know why. I had 50 miles going into today and for some reason it was important for me to hit 70 for the week rather than a paltry 66 or 67. Because, as most experts will tell you, it's important to be obsessed with round numbers.

Hey, what's wrong with non-even numbers?

Love the Onion article.

Teena - says the woman with 2,244 miles for the year!

From Teena Marie on Sat, Oct 30, 2010 at 18:26:13 from 174.19.55.243

Close to 700 of those miles are crosstraining miles!!!!!

(I must admit, however, that I am going for an even 2000 running miles for the year. So there is something quite enticing about those nice and pretty even numbers. A paltry 1956 to 1996 would break my heart!:))
