I had some success in high school and college. Winner 1985 Rod Dixon Run 

Had a fair amount of success as a Masters runner for most of my 40s. 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Have fun with running, explore more trails, stay healthy.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running and racing consistently for as long as I can. Find what is sustainable for me over the long run.

Personal:

I teach AP European History and other courses at Alta High School. I coached the track and cross country teams at Alta for 16 years.

Racing a 5k on sand tonight. Report later...

Hard race. All sand with lots of annoying ruts the last 2 miles. 90 degrees. Long course

Splits 6:51, 7:21, 7:36, 1:55. I should note that I was in 7th place at the mile so even though I ran progressively slower, it was not as bad as others. Had a good time.

Nice job Rob. Those summer sundown beach runs used to be at Pier 60 back when I did them. They are indeed hard races in those conditions.

Just noticed that you ran this race, funny, my ex-wife was there also. Just 11 years ago that you were driving us around in Salt Lake the day before Deseret News Marathon with me and her and my two kids.

Hilly half and beach sand. You are doing all the races most avoid.
