I had the day off of school so I took full advantage of the time.  I slept in until 8:00am and made Jaren some breakfast while Allison went to the gym.  I went running when she got back about 10:00am.  It was nice weather so I was in shorts and a long sleeve shirt.  Spring finally!.

I did a loop that I have never done before and was tougher than I expected.  I ran up by the Temple and kept going east into PG.  I turned north on 9000 W. and headed toward Cedar Hills.  The road went through a bunch of big farms and huge houses, but no big farm dogs luckily.  The road took me right up to the Cedar Hills post office and canyon road.  I continued the long climb toward the canyon.  When I hit AF canyon I finally got some relief from the six miles of uphill.  I found a nice paved trail, that I had no idea even existed, and followed it by a flood hollow and through a couple of golf courses until it came out close to Loan Peak High.  I took the Loan Peak hwy all the way into AF to 200 N. and headed home from there.  It was so warm that I could have used a short sleeve shirt instead of the long.

It was a great run for me event hough it wiped me out.  I did cough some but I also got up a lot of junk from it.  I focused a lot on form, relaxing, and getting back into a running rhythm, all of which I have been struggling.  It is like what Paul said the other day about how you can really tell your fitness when you go uphill or into the wind, I could really feel my lack of fitness in that first 6 miles with that long uphill.  1:18:02 (7:05 ave.)

Easy 5.5 miles with two of my guys (Trevor and Garrett). We did some strides afterward on the grass. We started with everyone but we were going faster so we lost most of the others, not that we were going that fast! Beautiful afternoon for running or being outside. We have our first meet tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how some of my kids perform. I felt better and worked more junk out of my body today. 7:25 pace for the run.

5:00 am-  Easy run up 55 North in AF toward PG and back.  I overdressed, and barely made it home to go potty.  We had a home track meet today so no other run.  7:34 pace

5:00am-  Cool morning run in the upper 20s.  I did an easy 6 miles up into Highland and back along 200 East and Alpine highway.  I felt good today and just cruised along on the dark cold roads.

We were supposed to be at the Box Elder Invitational today but the meet got canceled.  So instead I met my kids at the Riverton swimming pool for a Saturday morning long run.  It was cold and windy, with a North wind so that is the way we headed first. I aways like to do the hard stuff first.  I took the varsity boys with me and the other kids went shorter, like 50 minutes.  We ran on the Jordan River Parkway until the trail ended.   Then we turned East and went up a big dirt hill which put us on 11400 South.  We headed all the way up to Alta High, did a lap on their new track and headed back the same way.  We lost some guys along the way because they turned back, but I had five guys go the whole 11 miles.  In the last mile I saw a runner coming toward us at a good pace, I could tell he was pretty good.  As we passed, and after he called my name out, I realized it was Chad.  I stopped and talked to him for a minute or so.  I was surprised to see him on the other end of the valley and didn't quite catch what he was doing in Riverton, but it was good to see him.  Overall it was a good and fun run with my guys.  My average pace was 7:10 with some good hills and wind, it felt good!
