AM- I went running about 9:00 after a nice sleep in session. I did my loop up Alpine and Highland hwy and back through west Highland. The weather was perfect for running, nice and cool, and I felt good. I ran with my Polar HR monitor instead of a Garmin or Timex like I usually do. 56:40 for the 8 miles (7:05 ave pace, and 163 ave. HR).

(2130- 77 miles)

PM- Easy run this evening. I looped around by my twin sister's house and back passed the High School. When I got home I grabbed the VFFs and ran over to the park to do 4x100m strides on the lawn. 3.5 miles and 7:28 pace.

(Omni- 465 miles)

168 huh? Do you know if it got a good reading the whole time? Seems pretty high. Even higher than me (I seem to have a super fast heart rate). If my chest pads are not wet when I start, the readings are off (180-190 bpm) for about a mile until my sweat gets a better connection. A possibility??

It was actually 163, oops! There is a lot of uphill on that run and I was averaging 6:25 pace for the last 5 miles of it. Plus my max heart rate is higher than the standard formula shows my max should be (191). But it is possible that it was off for some reason. What is your ave HR for 6:25 pace?

From Cody on Fri, Jun 06, 2008 at 14:53:56

As I can recall, I am usually at about 165 to 170 for ~6:30 flat road pace. Of course hills skews it nicely. So still somewhat similar.
