AM: Track in Safety Harbor with a couple of people. Today was fun since I was running marathon pace and they were doing a tempo style where they worked up to 5k pace so it was fun to watch the progression of speed and effort.
Split: 29:58 for the 5 miles
I had planned 5 miles continuous at around marathon pace. It felt good. My breathing was in rhythm, I had trouble with form a bit, but I think it's just something that happens with a short warmup. This was an exciting day because, when I started running 5 or 6 years ago, the thought of completing 5 miles in 30 minutes was daunting to me let alone at a marathon pace. Today it felt easier and as if I was just cruising. How cool is that? Feeling fit really is the ultimate feeling. I always wish I were more fit, but sometimes it's nice just to take a step back and realize how far I've come and grown.
