Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

0-1 pain, went to Utah Symphony for our date night.  Paul was being goofy the whole time, when we were supposed to clap Paul clapped to the beat of his own drum, but he gave it a fancy name called syncopation.  Had a couple of really light twinge pains as I tossed and turned at night.  I was stressed and dreamt about missing my alarm and the RHPC 1/2 but woke up at 4am just fine.

Where were they playing at? My nephew (living with me until his wedding next month) is the director of the ticket sales, so I get to start going to the symphony more.

Hi Michelle, It was great to see you and meet one of your sons. Please don't judge me because I put Mariah Carey on the CD. I had to make something that I thought 'everyone' would like. I'm guessing by your love of Green Day, you're not a big Mimi fan--but there's a couple of songs I put on there I hope will inspire :) Can't wait to see what you'll be reading next. Or frankly my dear, I don't give a darn (sic)....From Sons and Lovers to Gone With the Wind is a pretty interesting range. Hope to see you again this summer!

It was great to meet you again and I hope your issues all work out soon. Thanks for putting on the fun race. I had a blast.

Yay for date night! YeOW! Who was the hotter of the two? Paul or you? lol. I sometimes get flap for clapping. Emma says I clap really loudly! I must say Symphonies are muy sophisticado! ;)

From Smooth on Sat, Jul 11, 2009 at 23:06:05 from 71.36.67.77

Michelle,

THANKS for sacrificing sleep and Sat. morning to come and set up everything so nicely for us. Your little boy was so cute. Please tell him he did a GREAT JOB assisting at the finish line. I felt bad I lost my sticker and didn't have one to give him. What a good little helper. I hope you reward him big time, for being the only boy in a mass of pinks.

I hope the med you started on work magics. You are such an inspiration to me. I LOVE the symphony! Yes, syncopation is a fancy rythmn. Did you go to the concert at Deer Valley or at Abravanel Hall?

Maurine and Smooth - the Symphany was at Thanksgiving Point. I think it would have been much better in an indoor setting.

Benn - Tu eres demasiado simpatico. El mayor de nuetros noches afueres son al cine. (ok my spanish is rusty).

Michelle - Thanks! and it was nice to meet you, but I didn't put the race on, Kelli/Marion/Josse put it on, I was just the opinionated friend, and had to come because I had to represent the sausage toes community.

Luz - haven't listened to it yet but will give it a fair hearing. My music tastes are somewhat varied (alternative, to christian, to some r&b).

Kelli - I'll be your nazi anytime. It's a natural talent :)

Michelle,

It is so nice to see your pain scale lower.

It was also wonderful to see all the pics of you on Kelli's and Leslie's blog.

Glad you had a great time on your date! :)

Michelle, tu espanol es muy bueno! I wish I had kept up on my Spanish after school! Los Lowrys son una familia divertida! :D. Hope all is well. I see that all the Hot Pink Chickas Ladies had the most energetic cheerleader of them all :D.
