Personal:

I used to run for BYU, but only after trying out three times and finally walking on, so I was never a star. However, it was wonderful to run with great people and under Coach Shane. When you run with fast people, you can't help to improve! I graduated BYU in 1998, and didn't run a race until 2002, after having my second child. My hiatus and other crazy life commitments have made my competitive running suffer, but the last couple of years I have tried to get back into it the best I can. I have been married since 1996, to Paul Lowry, who is a runner himself. I have three boys (my three rascals), ages 12, 10, and 8.

After a great 2008 season, I was injured and eventually diagnosed and cross-diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, a type of arthritis disease, which precludes running for all but the most stubborn.  So I am on medications, trying to stay healthy, and seeing my PT often.  And running!  Now beating the streets in Hong Kong.

Bad sleep.  Often happens after a night of good sleep.  Ran 4 on the treadmill.  My right glute is in pain again, started acting up last night.  Don't have time to go to doctor, but will if it doesn't go away.

Hey at least you figure it will be a GOOD nights sleep tonight then right? HAHA. Cool new picture! You can see the whole world behind you bustling around (Arc de Triumph, right?) and yet you manage to hold still just long enough to snap the shot. Really cool!

Sorry about the sleep :( sorry about the lbs :( Sorry about your butt :( oops, I mean gluteus maximus! oops, I mean minimus! Bahahahahahahahhahahaha! Yes, I am cracking myself up! I hope your day ends up better than this comment :) happy Valentines week! I want to eat a candy store!

Benn - yeah that was it. Paris was so beautiful, especially at night.

Marion - you crack me up! My rear is still hurting pretty bad, so I guess I have to make an appt with the doc, then just hope the pain goes away so I can cancel. I always want to eat a candy store. At least the chocolate aisle.

From Marion on Mon, Feb 09, 2009 at 18:45:27

I just bought a dove milk chocolate bar and ate it before I got home. I want another one, but am having a bowl of cereal instead. I am feeling like a bottomless pit today. I hate days like that when i could eat a small nation. On the flip side, when I feel like that and don't over eat, i lose a ton of weight :) Here's to the scale tomorrow!

Good luck with Dr Brady. If you are getting a bum rub does it count as a date?

Not if it's done by a professional, then it is a paid transaction. I just try to ignore what he's doing and get into a happy place. Otherwise it can be embarrassing. Yikes!

From Marion on Mon, Feb 09, 2009 at 18:58:12

If he's a "professional" .... never mind ;)

Getting to that happy place is HARD as he's digging into the damages tissue. I am so impressed that all that pain really causes amazing healing. I am so glad you sent me over there. Good luck! I need to quit avoiding fixing dinner and get my act into gear :)
