| | Nice run tonight, just took it easy to see if my hip will feel better. It was very windy when I started and I thought it would get worse as I when up the parkway. That's usually how it is, but it actually got calmer. I had so much fun when I ran around temple square. On the west side of the block all the leaves had piled along the side walk on that side, so I was running and kicking all the leaves and crunching them... I had to run around the block twice to I could do it again. 6.64 miles - 58:20 AP: 8:47

| | Had to get up and be to work an hour and a half earlier then normal today... so I'm beat!! But I did get a lovely run in :) I decided to do a longer... slower/easier run. I don't know if it was really easy though, I was getting tired by the end. Tried to keep it at about 9mm and I think I did pretty well. Had to stop and have a potty break at about mile 7. Then when I was coming back down the path, the sun was setting and it looked absolutely beautiful! When I looked to the east the mountains look bright red due to the sunset... so cool. There were a few placed along the path that I was running on the yellow brick/leaf path :) all the lovely golden leaves are starting to fall and the path is covered in a few places... so much fun. On the bad side... the PF in my left heal was bugging almost the entire run... time to get more dilligent with the icing. Hips felt better though... I think because I was at a slower pace. 9:04 miles - 1:20:20 Laps: 9:05, 9:05, 8:44, 8:43, 8:43, 9:02, 9:00, 8:49, 8:53

I needed to do something different tonight. Mentally just was not in the frame of mind to do any type of running. I decided that I needed to somehow incorporate weights into one of my days. I’m not very good at doing them and as I get older I know that it’s something that would help me. With that said this was my circuit/Yasso workout.
Two mile warm up – kept it at a 9:30 pace
First Yasso – 3:58
Then off the treadmill and did bench and triceps dips
Second Yasso – 3:57
Biceps and overhead press
Third Yasso – 3:57
Squats
Forth – 3:58
Back and assisted pull-ups
Fifth – 3:55
Abs/planks and then cool down two miles 9:30
Felt good after I was done… I think I’m going to try and do this workout once a week or until I get bored of it LOL Don’t know if this is doing me any good… I tried to keep the circuit rather fast, probably only about 3-6 minutes when I’m doing the weights. Kept them pretty light so I could keep the reps faster, I completed three sets of 10-15 reps. |

| | Took it nice and easy tonight. The plan was to keep my pace at between 9:00 - 9:30. Because I had to be at work early a couple of days this week, and because they have us on a no OT rule I was able to be off work at 2:30 YEEEPPPEEEEEE! So I had my run... the showered and changed into my witch costume to meet up with my grand kids for my works trunk or treat :) It was fun to see my grand babies all dressed up sooooo cute!!! My run was just up the parkway as usual... I don't know if I have said it before but there is a skate park at one point along the parkway. I'm always amazed by the grace and balance it takes for them to weave in and out of those deep bowls. The way they fearlessly dive off the side with their bodies at parallel angles to the ground. My friend that died was a skateboarder and I was always stunned with his ability to do it. Laps: 9:13, 9:16, 9:16, 9:12, 9:07, 9:09

| | Ran with Sue this morning... we figured the trails would be muddy from last nights rain so we opted for the parkway. Neither of us were feeling particularly speedy today. I don't know why but I had a bad case of lead leg, so we just ran it pretty easy. Average pace was 9:19. Well off to get a long list of things accomplished. Have a wonderful weekend bloggers :) |
