| | A very disruptive night sleep, I kept waking up at least 4 different times. At least I was able to fall back to sleep relatively fast. Tonight's run felt very hard... I think I need to slow it down a bit on some of my easy/recovery runs. I didn't think it feel that difficult though. I took it pretty easy Saturday. But legs felt trashed... I hope I get feeling better before Saturday. I went into the gym after my run to stretch and do some abs. I'm a horrible people watcher, I think it's a habit I need to stop doing. Anyway there was a guy there that had a very long black ponytail... It was about to the waist of his shorts. And that was not all... he had the middle of his nose pierced and gauged with this black horse shoe looking thing in his nose! I wondered if it was hard to blow his nose with it there and when he got a cold if it got boogies all over it... YEWWW Gross!!! LOL 7.10 - 1:01:21 laps: 8:45, 8:44, 8:55, 8:42, 8:35, 8:21, 8:28 Things at work have changed and Big Brother is watching us... so I have to wait to get home to do all my posting... it's a bummer... family dosn't want me on the computer eaither :(

| | This has been a very long night... I had my run and then when my husband came home from work he wanted to go for a hike. We just did a quick 4 miles on the Ben Lomond Peak trail, but it got dark before we were done and we didn't bring a light. I was getting pretty nervous! My husband was having fun spooking me. I still one of those girls that gets scared very easily and he thinks it's great fun. For my run I tried to keep it slower tonight I averaged a 9:11mm so I did pretty good. I don't think I'm going to do the Yasso's this week. I think I will just do some nice slower miles since I have the 1/2 on Saturday. Well I'm beat... time for bed. |

| | Took it slow today... legs are feeling pretty tight, so I guess it's a good thing I have a massage scheduled for after work tomorrow. I hope that it will help before the race Saturday. Today was pretty uneventful for my run. It's getting very warm in the afternoons again. I loved the little bit of a cool trend we had last week and the first of this week. I think my pace averaged about 9:30 for the run.

| | Kind of a planned day off... I had a massage after work and planned on running after... but it was so HOT!! I have been running in the hot all week! So I was on my way to to gym to run on the treadmill but all of a sudden my car turned and headed home... it was the weirdest thing! So I will catch up on other things tonight. Plan for tomorrow is an easy 4 hopfully in the morning. Then I have to run the running portion of the B.R.A.T. at work. Let me explain... I work with a bunch of automotive engineers who also bike at lunch. I have biked with them a couple of times but they are very competative and I get tired of being dropped within the first few turns of the road. Anyway they have this silly race that they started. It's on the parkway by the river, that is close to our job. I run down there a few times at lunch when I can. So first they have a bike ride on the dirt trails by the path... then they have to tube down the river to a certain point, then they have to run back to the start with their tube. So one of the guys has had some knee issues and wants me to do the running part. They wanted me to do the whole thing with them, I think just so they could get a girl to do it. They are pretty funny.

So I got up and ran 5.16 in the morning before work!! Can you believe it!! I was just as surprised as you all. But even at 5:15 in the morning when I ran past the city building the temp on the billboard said 67 degrees... Yuck, we are having some record breaking temps. I really need to make sure I try my best to get my running done in the mornings. Then I ran about 1.25 miles in my engineers BRAT race. Fun but very hot! For being the first girl to participate in the race I got a bike jersey and a pool float. It was pretty crazy! Hope I get a good nights sleep and hope to see a few bloggers at TOU half tomorrow! On a side note: One of my ultra marathon friends asked that I pace another friend for about 16 miles of the Wasatch 100. I have not given my answer yet, I'm nervouse to do it. I ran and trained to pace my friend before he died, but when he ran in the Wasatch 100 he DNF'd before he got to where I was going to pace him. I have also worked at the Brighton aid station one year. So not sure what I will do... I told him I needed to go on some training runs with them.

Got up super early... Sue's husband drove us up to Logan. This was the first time for Sue to run in a race since her injuries 1 1/2 years ago. She was supper excited, I think she said she got about 2 hours of sleep. After we stretched we headed up to the start. I saw speedy Mr. Walter getting ready and told him good luck. He was the only blogger I saw all day. The first 6 or so miles is down Blacksmith Fork's canyon. It was very pretty and a nice down hill grade also towards the mouth a good breeze. 8:35, 8,20, 8:13, 8:26, 7:59, 8:03, then you were running through a nice little rural area with farms and darling houses. These miles felt pretty good still but I could really feel the difference from the down hill, to now the more flat and rolly 8:17, 8:07, 8:24, really stared to feel my left heel aching and just an overall feeling of wanting to be done. Tried alot in the next little while to set my thoughts on picking people off so that maybe it would take my mind off from the pain the my left heel. 8:54, 8:29, 9:17 (I think this was a combination of a water station and a hill that really slowed my time) Last mile I could see the finish and got the old horse to the barn thing going 8:07, last .10 8:12. I don't think they have posted the official times so I don't know my overall place in the race. I did see my time and age group place. If I remembered wrong I will change it when they post the offical times. Overall this is a PR for my so I was very happy!! It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed being with my friend... it was all topped off with a PR... who could ask for more!
