Got up super early... Sue's husband drove us up to Logan. This was the first time for Sue to run in a race since her injuries 1 1/2 years ago. She was supper excited, I think she said she got about 2 hours of sleep. After we stretched we headed up to the start. I saw speedy Mr. Walter getting ready and told him good luck. He was the only blogger I saw all day. The first 6 or so miles is down Blacksmith Fork's canyon. It was very pretty and a nice down hill grade also towards the mouth a good breeze. 8:35, 8,20, 8:13, 8:26, 7:59, 8:03, then you were running through a nice little rural area with farms and darling houses. These miles felt pretty good still but I could really feel the difference from the down hill, to now the more flat and rolly 8:17, 8:07, 8:24, really stared to feel my left heel aching and just an overall feeling of wanting to be done. Tried alot in the next little while to set my thoughts on picking people off so that maybe it would take my mind off from the pain the my left heel. 8:54, 8:29, 9:17 (I think this was a combination of a water station and a hill that really slowed my time) Last mile I could see the finish and got the old horse to the barn thing going 8:07, last .10 8:12. I don't think they have posted the official times so I don't know my overall place in the race. I did see my time and age group place. If I remembered wrong I will change it when they post the offical times. Overall this is a PR for my so I was very happy!! It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed being with my friend... it was all topped off with a PR... who could ask for more!
